ABSOLUTE PEACE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY OF MERANO

The “barcode” house is located in the center of Merano. The enclosed courtyard with parking is located directly on the winter walk making it an ideal place to have breakfast, relax or play. The view shows the Passirio, the promenade and Parco Sissi. The Tappeiner Promenade, the cathedral and the arcades are just a stone’s throw away, the Sissi Promenade passes directly in front of the house, just as the Merano thermal baths can be reached in a few minutes on foot! In front of this unique house flows the Passirio, whose terrace on the beach is easily accessible for guests of the barcode house.

Roswitha and Jeremy are the owners of the barcode house – Jeremy takes care of the house, the courtyard and guests. Both are fluent in German, Italian and English and have mastered sign language. It is very important for them to convey to the guests the uniqueness of their home and its location.

Above all, guests love the tranquility that characterizes the house in the city center. Shops, restaurants, bars and attractions are in the immediate vicinity, as are walking paths and opportunities to relax. The service ranges from pick-up at the train station to parking spaces for bicycles and motorbikes to interesting insider tips for motorbike tours and other excursions. Incidentally, the barcode house owes its name to the unique facade that resembles a barcode.

Place / location

Our holiday home is located in the centre of the beautiful city of Merano., on the winter promenade near the Ponte della Posta, Piazza della Rena, the Passirio (river) and the city cathedral.

We are in a very central position, in the middle of the promenades, near Sissi Park and the Tappeiner promenades. The Sissi promenade passes directly in front of the house. In front of our house is the “Passirio” river with an accessible terrace on the beach. The house is fully detached.

Around the house

In front of the house there is a fenced yard where you can park your car. The winter promenade and the Sissi promenade are right next to the house. In the courtyard there are 2 large cedar trees which provide shade in the summer. In the courtyard you can romantically have breakfast, enjoy the peacefulness, or the children can go out to the fenced-in area to play.

The house is located in a pedestrian area with lots of greenery and beautiful , tall trees and a palm tree. Cross the river via a small pedestrian bridge in front of the house and you arrive on the other side of the promenade at Sissi park. You can see the river, the Passirio with the terrace on the river bank.

What distinguishes us from others?

The house is particularly appreciated for its location and its uniqueness. You are located in the center yet in a quiet area right on the river. The house radiates individuality and romance. Guests have the house all to themselves. Through its facade – the barcode – it is something very special and a true work of art. Its particularity will make a visit to the city of Merano unforgettable. In the immediate vicinity you will find everything you need for physical well-being (food shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, etc.), cultural experiences (theater, cinema) or for relaxation (spas) with recreational opportunities or means of transport (bus, taxi and bicycle rental).

Peace and relaxation in an individually designed house are important to us, yet guests are right in the heart of Merano with many cultural opportunities also for good eating (excellent local restaurants) and physical relaxation (spas and walks).

In our house you are truly alone. The car can be parked right in front of the entrance door in the enclosed courtyard and this in the heart of Merano. We are located directly on the Passirio river, with a terrace on the beach and on the Sissi promenade and close to the Tappeiner promenades. You are in the city yet in a quiet place with lots of nature. TV is intentionally not included :-)

Roswitha & Jeremy

I am the landlady, Roswitha Blaas, born in Merano. However, my husband Jeremy takes care of everything. The house has been mine since 1996. We have 2 children together.

We (Roswitha and Jeremy) love our home because it’s very special and simple. It is our passion, along with riding motorbikes, our hobby until the birth of our children.

We both speak German, Italian, English and know sign language.

Services / offers

If possible, we like to pick up our guests arriving by train or bus at the railway station. We try to answer any questions or requests. If you need something for your child, we can get it and leave it at your disposal.

Free and closed private parking for cars, bicycles and motorbikes directly in front of the house.
The entrance to the house of barcodes is relatively narrow, but still feasible even for a minibus, for example – if you wish, it is possible to use a nearby car park for an additional fee. Further information on request.
We guarantee a smoke-free home and pets are not allowed (ideal for allergy sufferers).

Prices refer to two people for a minimum stay of 7 days, otherwise we apply a supplement of €5 per day.
Our holiday home is preferably rented from Saturday to Saturday.
The reservation is binding only after receipt of payment of 20% of the total.
Upon arrival, we kindly ask you to pay the remaining amount by bank transfer or in cash.

The house is equipped with crockery, pots, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, refrigerator (with freezer compartment), as well as sheets, towels and tea towels, spices, tea, toilet paper and soap.
We guarantee a smoke-free home and pets are not allowed (ideal for allergy sufferers).

wir waren jetzt das 2.Mal - und sicher nicht das letzte Mal - in Eurem wunderschön gelegenen und liebevoll-perfekt eingerichtetem Haus zu Gast. Unseren Urlaub konnten wir problemlos um 3 Tage verlängern, das Wetter war perfekt für unsere Bergtouren, und selbst die Behörde hat die Durchfahrgenehmigung rechtzeitig ausgestellt.

 Trustindex überprüft, ob die Originalquelle der Bewertung Google ist. Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in diesem schönen Häuschen verbracht, das trotz der zentralen Lage absolut ruhig gelegen ist. Man hört nur das Rauschen der Passer. Toll ist auch, dass man im Hof relativ uneingesehen ist. Im Haus selbst ist alles da, was man braucht. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und unkompliziert.

Man hört nur das Plätschern der Passer. In wenigensehr  Minuten ist man in der Innenstadt oder an der Passerpromenade.
Die Besitzer Roswitha und Jeremy sind super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

 Trustindex überprüft, ob die Originalquelle der Bewertung Google ist. Zuerst waren wir sehr überrascht. Dieses kleine Ferienhaus liegt super zentral und an einem Fluss. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten,  Restaurants, Wanderungen etc. alles Fußläufig erreichbar. Das kleine Grundstück ist eingezäunt und der kleine Hof exklusiv für Dein Auto als Parkplatz,  oder draußen in der Abendsonne ein Glas Wein genießen.
Es ist nachts sehr ruhig und morgens kann man in einem Café in ein paar Metern Entfernung Frühstücken, oder genießt die Ruhe im Haus.
Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.  Alles hat super geklappt. Preis/Leistung passten. Nicht mehr das neueste Objekt, aber es ist alles super sauber und alles vorhanden, was man so fürs Erste braucht.
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen bestimmt irgendwann wieder.

 Trustindex überprüft, ob die Originalquelle der Bewertung Google ist. Eine wunderschöner Ort mitten in Meran. Man sollte sich nicht am rauschen des Fluss (Passer) stören. Auf mich wirkt das Rauschen wie weißes Rauschen und beruhigend. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit. Er nimmt aber keine Tiere, wegen der Hygiene und möglichen Allergien für die Folge Gäste. Da das Haus direkt an der Uferpromenade liegt, laufen viele Menschen daran vorbei.

 Verifiziert Wunderschöne Lage direkt am Passer. Der Lärm könnte für manche störend sein. Für uns war es sehr angenehm und erholsam! Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, aber dennoch ganz in der Nähe des Zentrums von Meran und des Waldes mit Ausgangspunkten für Spaziergänge und Wanderungen – einfach perfekt.Auch wenn wir die Eigentümer aus Urlaubsgründen nicht persönlich treffen konnten, haben wir uns sehr willkommen gefühlt, wie selten zuvor. Alles Notwendige stand zur Verfügung (Küchenausstattung und -zubehör, Bettwäsche und Pflegeprodukte für das Badezimmer). Das Haus ist sehr sauber. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen.

 Verifiziert Simpatica casetta accanto al fiume con parcheggio dedicato all'interno del giardino. La strada è davvero stretta ma dopo il primo passaggio ci si abitua velocemente. Il proprietario Jeremy è molto cordiale e pronto nel risolvere gli eventuali problemi. La casa all'interno è ampia e funzionale. Merano è una città con i prezzi un pó più alti della media per quanto riguarda i ristoranti, le pizzerie e i bar ma ne vale la pena perché è ricca di opportunità e di negozi di ogni genere con possibilità di fare molte passeggiate nel verde per rilassarsi. Per di più dotata di numerosissime panchine per riposare. Esperienza da rifare quando possibile e magari nell'originale casettina.

 Verifiziert Het Strichcodehaus voldeed helemaal aan onze verwachtingen. Super gelegen, aan de wandelpromenade van de Passer. In 1 minuut lopen kun je cappuccino of Aperol drinken op een terrasje aan de Passer. Het huis blijft heerlijk koel, het ligt onder de bomen. Je kunt heerlijk slapen met de ramen open bij het geruis van de Passer en hebt geen last van voorbijgangers op de promenade.Om er met een auto te komen is een hele uitdaging. De toegangsstraat is heel erg smal. Wij hebben een Volvo XC40 en hadden aan elke kant 2 cm over! Je moet een goede chauffeur zijn met stalen zenuwen.

After completing your reservation, we require the following documents for the access permit to the Strichcodehaus (traffic-calmed zone with video surveillance). Please note that these documents are only valid for the booked period:

Driver’s Name
Identification Card (Personal ID)
Vehicle Registration Certificate

We will send you a form, which you must complete and sign and return to us via email or as a photo via WhatsApp. The application must be submitted at least 48 hours before your arrival – please keep the confirmation from the city police for 5 years.

You arrive directly at the Ponte della Posta (passage permit with video surveillance), after about 100 m you will reach Piazza della Rena, turning right into Via Gardini along a narrow alley and in about 200 m you will reach the barcode house (see marker 2).

The access to the barcode house via the garden path is relatively narrow, but easily passable for a minibus – should you still have any concerns, you are welcome to use a nearby car park for an additional charge (see marker 1).
