ABSOLUTE PEACE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY OF MERANO

The “barcode” house is located in the center of Merano. The enclosed courtyard with parking is located directly on the winter walk making it an ideal place to have breakfast, relax or play. The view shows the Passirio, the promenade and Parco Sissi. The Tappeiner Promenade, the cathedral and the arcades are just a stone’s throw away, the Sissi Promenade passes directly in front of the house, just as the Merano thermal baths can be reached in a few minutes on foot! In front of this unique house flows the Passirio, whose terrace on the beach is easily accessible for guests of the barcode house.

Roswitha and Jeremy are the owners of the barcode house – Jeremy takes care of the house, the courtyard and guests. Both are fluent in German, Italian and English and have mastered sign language. It is very important for them to convey to the guests the uniqueness of their home and its location.

Above all, guests love the tranquility that characterizes the house in the city center. Shops, restaurants, bars and attractions are in the immediate vicinity, as are walking paths and opportunities to relax. The service ranges from pick-up at the train station to parking spaces for bicycles and motorbikes to interesting insider tips for motorbike tours and other excursions. Incidentally, the barcode house owes its name to the unique facade that resembles a barcode.

Place / location

Our holiday home is located in the centre of the beautiful city of Merano., on the winter promenade near the Ponte della Posta, Piazza della Rena, the Passirio (river) and the city cathedral.

We are in a very central position, in the middle of the promenades, near Sissi Park and the Tappeiner promenades. The Sissi promenade passes directly in front of the house. In front of our house is the “Passirio” river with an accessible terrace on the beach. The house is fully detached.

Around the house

In front of the house there is a fenced yard where you can park your car. The winter promenade and the Sissi promenade are right next to the house. In the courtyard there are 2 large cedar trees which provide shade in the summer. In the courtyard you can romantically have breakfast, enjoy the peacefulness, or the children can go out to the fenced-in area to play.

The house is located in a pedestrian area with lots of greenery and beautiful , tall trees and a palm tree. Cross the river via a small pedestrian bridge in front of the house and you arrive on the other side of the promenade at Sissi park. You can see the river, the Passirio with the terrace on the river bank.

What distinguishes us from others?

The house is particularly appreciated for its location and its uniqueness. You are located in the center yet in a quiet area right on the river. The house radiates individuality and romance. Guests have the house all to themselves. Through its facade – the barcode – it is something very special and a true work of art. Its particularity will make a visit to the city of Merano unforgettable. In the immediate vicinity you will find everything you need for physical well-being (food shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, etc.), cultural experiences (theater, cinema) or for relaxation (spas) with recreational opportunities or means of transport (bus, taxi and bicycle rental).

Peace and relaxation in an individually designed house are important to us, yet guests are right in the heart of Merano with many cultural opportunities also for good eating (excellent local restaurants) and physical relaxation (spas and walks).

In our house you are truly alone. The car can be parked right in front of the entrance door in the enclosed courtyard and this in the heart of Merano. We are located directly on the Passirio river, with a terrace on the beach and on the Sissi promenade and close to the Tappeiner promenades. You are in the city yet in a quiet place with lots of nature. TV is intentionally not included :-)

Roswitha & Jeremy

I am the landlady, Roswitha Blaas, born in Merano. However, my husband Jeremy takes care of everything. The house has been mine since 1996. We have 2 children together.

We (Roswitha and Jeremy) love our home because it’s very special and simple. It is our passion, along with riding motorbikes, our hobby until the birth of our children.

We both speak German, Italian, English and know sign language.

Services / offers

If possible, we like to pick up our guests arriving by train or bus at the railway station. We try to answer any questions or requests. If you need something for your child, we can get it and leave it at your disposal.

Free and closed private parking for cars, bicycles and motorbikes directly in front of the house.
The entrance to the house of barcodes is relatively narrow, but still feasible even for a minibus, for example – if you wish, it is possible to use a nearby car park for an additional fee. Further information on request.
We guarantee a smoke-free home and pets are not allowed (ideal for allergy sufferers).

Prices refer to two people for a minimum stay of 7 days, otherwise we apply a supplement of €5 per day.
Our holiday home is preferably rented from Saturday to Saturday.
The reservation is binding only after receipt of payment of 20% of the total.
Upon arrival, we kindly ask you to pay the remaining amount by bank transfer or in cash.

The house is equipped with crockery, pots, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, refrigerator (with freezer compartment), as well as sheets, towels and tea towels, spices, tea, toilet paper and soap.

After making the reservation, to allow you to reach the house, we need the barcode (restricted traffic area with video surveillance) of the following documents (valid only for the booked period):

You arrive directly at the Ponte della Posta (passage permit with video surveillance), after about 100 m you will reach Piazza della Rena, turning right into Via Gardini along a narrow alley and in about 200 m you will reach the barcode house (see marker 2).

The access to the barcode house via the garden path is relatively narrow, but easily passable for a minibus – should you still have any concerns, you are welcome to use a nearby car park for an additional charge (see marker 1).
